North American Rescue - JETT Junctional Emergency Treatment Tool

North American Rescue - JETT Junctional Emergency Treatment Tool

Product Description

North American Rescue’s Junctional Emergency Treatment Tool™ (JETT®) is an innovative emergency tool that delivers dual-position, belt-like compression to both legs simultaneously. JETT® from North American Rescue was designed for trauma situations and to control bleeding in the thigh or groin, areas where tourniquets are ineffective or ineffective. North American Rescue designed the JETT® to enhance the effectiveness of the JETT® in controlling bleeding in these areas. Examples of injuries that are suitable for the JETT® include stab wounds, blast injuries, and amputations. The JETT® also features a pivot lock to prevent loosening during transport, allowing the victim to be moved while simultaneously controlling bleeding.

Junctional Emergency Treatment Tool™ (JETT®) Features

  • The hemostatic device comes in a ready-to-use form, easy to use at the scene.
  • The purpose is to stop bleeding in both thighs simultaneously without affecting the patient's breathing.

How to use the JETT Junctional Emergency Treatment Tool

Step 1: Patient Assessment and Preparation

  • Initially assess the patient's condition to determine if the injury cannot be stopped with a standard tourniquet, such as a wound high in the thigh or groin area.

  • Remove all equipment, bag contents, or debris from the patient in the area where the JETT® is to be used to prevent further injury.

  • Assess the situation and consider whether the JETT® application will be used on both legs or only one leg.

Step 2: Usage

  • Unpack the JETT® and make it ready for use.

  • Insert the belt under the injured person's body with the label that says "This side Toward Casualty" facing forward.

  • Look for the location of the pelvic bones and pubic bones, which are connected through the inguinal ligaments.

  • Lift the injured person's hips and position the belt under the buttocks, centering the buttock pad and the compression pad under the groin area, confirming the groin area position.

  • Position the compression plate so that it is parallel to the groin ligament at approximately 30 degrees, pointing inward from the midline of the body towards the toes. Then, make sure that the compression plate is in the correct position.

  • Double check that the injured person's genitals are not in a place where pressure is being applied.

  • Lock the buckle, then pull it tight, using your other hand to help pull, making sure there is no looseness.

  • Reassess the position of the pressure plate to ensure it is in the correct position.

  • Use one hand to hold the base, then use your dominant hand to turn the T-shaped shaft clockwise until it is tight.

  • Increase the pressure until the bleeding stops, to the point where the bleeding is completely stopped. After that, check the distal pulse to see if it has disappeared (if the bleeding is completely stopped, the distal pulse will stop).

  • Insert the locking tab into the opening on the top of the T-spindle, then pull the base firmly to secure the device.

  • Repeat as needed with the T-shaped pivot for the other leg to stabilize the bleeding in both leg injuries.

  • After completing the hemostats, record the time after hemostats on the timer area inside the device.

Step 3: Monitor and reassess the patient, follow up on the results.

  • The casualty is assessed every 5 minutes (or as per the unit's medical protocol) to ensure that hemostasis remains under control.

  • Assess after each transfer of the injured person to ensure that the compression plate remains in the correct position and that it continues to apply constant pressure during the transfer.

  • Removal of equipment should be done with the consent or under the supervision of a physician or field medical officer or under the medical regulations of the responsible agency.

Precautions for use
