The bandage is stretchy and can be applied directly to the wound, while the compression device applies focused, localized pressure directly to the wound. This doesn't just create pressure around the wound, like an ineffective tourniquet. This focused, localized pressure precisely compresses damaged blood vessels in the wound area, reducing the amount of pressure and supporting the rescuer's pressure, allowing them to spend more time caring for other injured individuals.

In addition, the pressure-generating device can also be used as an eye protection cover, as recommended by the CoTCCC.
